Seasons and visas. What to wear and where. Tipping, health, connectivity, money. The unglamorous half of a journey that quietly decides how the glamorous half feels.
Every printed version of this goes stale, and not slowly. A guidebook is a photograph of a moving thing — accurate on the day it was taken and drifting from that moment onward. The rule changed. The road opened. The place that was worth the detour stopped being worth it.
The house will keep adding here. But this room is worth more than a guide for one reason only: it can be corrected by somebody who was standing there last month.
So if something you were told turned out to be out of date, say so. That is the single most valuable post this room can carry.
